Is German hard to learn? An honest answer

• Three genders: der, die, das — learn the article with every noun.
• Cases change small words depending on their role in the sentence.
• Long compound words — but they're just smaller words joined together.

The trick is to learn nouns together with their article from the very first day — never the bare word alone. Do that, and the hardest part of German stops being hard.
